Cristina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Cooperativism and Development from the Federal University of the Southern Frontier (UFFS), a Master’s degree in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development from the same institution, and is currently a PhD candidate at the Institute of Economics at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). Her work has focused on projects in the areas of public policy for territorial development, agrarian reform, the solidarity economy, and agroecology.
Cristina has served as a Substitute Professor of Economic Theory at the UFFS campus in Laranjeiras do Sul, and was the researcher of the Cantuquiriguaçu Agroecology Network through a project led by the National Agroecology Articulation (ANA). She has also worked as an advisor to Guarani communities in Paraná through the Sustainable Tekoa project and participated in the Emergency Solidarity Brigade of October 4th in support of the Mozambican people.
She currently serves on the board of the Vitória Agricultural Production Cooperative (COPAVI), which is affiliated with the Landless Rural Workers’ Movement (MST), and works as Project Director at FINAPOP.
